Some Galaxy S25 models might not get the flagship Exynos chipset due to rumored yield issues.
Samsung always goes for competitive pricing, particularly its flagship series. Since Qualcomm’s upcoming top-tier processor will power one model of that series, we can expect a price hike.
The price hike, however, is shockingly steep if the leak is to be believed. According to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the low yield of the Samsung Exynos 2500 may force the South Korean tech giant to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on every Galaxy S25 Series model.
Previous reports suggested the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is exclusive to US models and Galaxy S25 Ultra. But the situation may force the company otherwise. If that happens, every model in this series will be 30% more pricey, thanks to SoC exclusivity.
On X (formerly Twitter), users @yamazaki1812 posted that Samsung has two main routes: absorb the price difference between the two chipsets or charge them to customers. Charging customers will result in the premium while absorbing it will hurt the company’s profits.
Though, there’s a possible middleground. It’s rumored that Qualcomm is planning to release two versions of SD 8 Gen 4 where one is only Wi-Fi ready while the other includes an integrated 5G modem. The latter will definitely balloon the price.
As per speculations, the Galaxy S25 Ultra features:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
- 6.8” Dynamic AMOLED panel
- 1440 x 3088 pixels
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Gorilla Glass Armor
- 12GB RAM
- Up to 1TB ROM
- 200+50+12+12MP rear camera setup
- 5000mAh battery
- 45W charging
