Reports and leaks suggest the company is planning to stop making the standard Galaxy S26 model. Instead of the usual three-phone lineup, Samsung will focus on a new, more premium series for 2026.

This is a major shift. The company is reportedly ditching the “Plus” model and will offer a new “Edge” model, a thinner version of the phone with fewer features, but will replace the “vanilla” model with a “Pro” model, leaving only high-end options.
Here’s the rumored lineup for Samsung’s 2026:
- Galaxy S26 Pro: This will be the new entry-level flagship, replacing the regular S26.
- Galaxy S26 Edge: A new, thinner model that will replace the S26+, but with fewer features, a smaller battery, and a higher price tag.
- Galaxy S26 Ultra: The top-tier powerhouse will remain as the most advanced and expensive option.
This move means the entire S-series will become a luxury-focused lineup. The regular “S” phone is gone, and the new base model, the “Pro,” will have a higher price tag. This leaves the more affordable market to the Galaxy A series.
Why the big change?
- Premium Focus: By only offering “Pro,” “Edge,” and “Ultra” models, the company makes its brand seem more high-end and exclusive.
- Less Confusion: Having fewer models at the top could make it easier for buyers to choose.
- More Resources: With a smaller number of flagship phones, the company can put more money and effort into making each one more innovative and advanced.
While this is still based on leaks, the evidence from multiple sources suggests that the classic Galaxy S lineup is changing. The Galaxy S26 could be the start of a new, premium-only era for the company’s most famous phone series.
