Fresh high-quality CAD renders give us a better look at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, revealing a major redesign to its rear camera setup.
New rectangular camera island
The biggest change is the camera island. Samsung is reportedly moving to a large rectangular module across the top of the rear panel, with the camera sensors positioned on the left side.
The design looks noticeably different from the Galaxy S26 Ultra and has drawn comparisons to recent iPhone and POCO phones.
The renders are still unofficial, so Samsung’s final design could change.
Almost the same size
According to the render source, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will measure:
- 163.76mm tall
- 78.25mm wide
- 7.97mm thick
That’s less than a millimeter larger than the Galaxy S26 Ultra in each dimension, meaning the difference should barely be noticeable.
Including the camera bump, the phone reportedly reaches 12.53mm thick.
The renders also compare the S27 Ultra with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to keep its 6.9-inch display.
It will most likely be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, although Samsung has yet to officially confirm the chipset.
For now, the biggest takeaway from these renders is the camera redesign. Samsung appears ready to give its next Ultra a noticeably different look without significantly changing its overall size.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra remains unannounced, so all leaked specifications and design details should be treated as unofficial.
