Samsung isn’t ready to give away its throne of having the best flip phones in the market today, and it doubles down on the cover screen factor as well
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is an excellent clamshell foldable, but unlike its rivals, it has a smaller outer screen with fewer features. Only a little more than your current notifications, battery life, date, and time can be seen on it.
With the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Korean company appears to be planning to enlarge the cover display. Leaked renders provide proof of the same.
According to a design rendering posted by Sammobile, Samsung will make some significant changes to its upcoming clamshell foldable.
The cover screen for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 appears to be significantly larger than that of earlier iterations, as can be seen in the image. It is more significant than Oppo’s on the most recent Find N2 Flip, taking up most of the space on the front outer display.
Although it is unclear how Samsung will use a larger cover screen, we can anticipate that it will have many more features than its forerunner. (Below: Motorola Razr 2023 for reference)
The brand may do the same, given how many third-party developers already allow full-fledged Android apps to be used on the external display. Support for timers, the camera, and weather forecasts may also be included.
Although the cover screen’s measurements are unknown, sources tell Sammobile they will be between 3 and 4 inches. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s dimensions lead the publication to predict that it will likely fall closer to the lower end of that range.
