Samsung’s affordable take on its foldable smartphones may begin with Galaxy Z Flip FE.
Galaxy Folds and Galaxy Flips are very pricey for most people. But the South Korean tech giant wants more users to gain access to its foldable phone technology.
According to a report, the plan may start with the Galaxy Z Flip FE. See that “FE?” It’s similar to the Galaxy S Series. But why would Samsung want to launch such a model? The competition is getting tougher with newcomers.
Infinix ZERO Flip, TECNO PHANTOM V Flip, nubia Flip 5G, and others are occupying markets, especially in low- to mid-level income regions. Buyers with limited budget are likely to pick affordable options because they’re good enough for casual use, streaming, video recording, and even gaming. So, why buy something expensive?
To bring down the price, Samsung may cut specs here and there for the Galaxy Z Flip FE. Here are some areas where its price is very flexible:
- AMOLED panel but no LTPO technology
- 1080p resolution with 90 or 120Hz refresh rate
- MediaTek or Exynos chipset
- 8GB RAM
- 256GB ROM
- Older Corning Gorilla Glass
- Limited ingress protection
- Lower than 5,000mAh battery
- Charging speed of 25W or lower
- Up to Wi-Fi 5 only
As of writing, no concrete details have surfaced regarding the Galaxy Z Flip FE, except the strong rumor of its ETA in 2025.
