Samsung could be preparing a different approach for its next foldable generation. Ahead of the rumored July 22 launch event, new leaks have surfaced detailing both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and a separate model called the Galaxy Z Fold Wide.
The two devices appear to target different priorities, with the Fold8 focusing on slimmer flagship refinement while the Fold Wide leans toward a larger display experience.
According to the latest report, the Galaxy Z Fold8 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Samsung is also expected to continue pushing thinner foldable hardware. The Fold8 is rumored to measure just 4.1mm when unfolded while weighing around 210g.
The leak claims Samsung will keep the same 200 megapixel primary rear camera found on the previous generation.
The ultrawide camera, however, is expected to receive an upgrade to a 50 megapixel sensor. Selfie cameras are tipped to remain unchanged, continuing with 10 megapixel sensors. These details align with earlier leaks surrounding the device.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is rumored to carry a 5,000mAh battery, matching information from a previous March leak.
Charging speeds may also improve, with support for 45W wired charging expected.
Alongside the Fold8, Samsung is also rumored to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold Wide.
The device is tipped to feature a 7.6 inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, potentially offering a more tablet like experience compared to Samsung’s standard foldable layout.
Camera hardware on the Fold Wide is rumored to include:
- 50 megapixel main camera
- 50 megapixel ultrawide camera
The device is also expected to pack a 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging support.
Weight is rumored to sit around 200g.
The leaked details once again line up with recent reports surrounding Samsung’s upcoming foldable lineup.
