Samsung’s worst nightmare, OPPO Find N2 Flip, launched globally!

OPPO has finally unveiled the OPPO Find N2 Flip globally meaning people outside of China can now purchase an OPPO foldable for the first time!

OPPO Find N2 Flip

When it comes to foldable smartphones, Samsung has always been the champion in the market for years. Despite their best efforts, rivals have been unable to halt Samsung’s expansion. Will OPPO alter the course of events and dent Samsung’s dominance? Time will tell. Here are a few interesting key features of the new phone.

Display

The OPPO Find N2 Flip has several similar visual characteristics with its primary rival, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Even Samsung’s Bora Purple coloring is strikingly similar to Moonlit Purple.

There are numerous variances, though, if you pay close attention. For instance, compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Foldable display leaves a smaller gap when its closed. The two halves essentially appear flush. On the OPPO device, the cover display, which is the smaller display on the outside of the phone, is also noticeably larger.

Design

For the displays, the phone has a 3.26-inch cover screen with a maximum brightness of 900 nits. Although it only has a 60Hz refresh rate, the touchscreen experience is complete and gives you easy access to apps like the weather, a recorder, a timer, music controls, and more. The phone also includes photography capabilities that let you capture selfies with the rear cameras rather than the phone’s inferior selfie camera. With all these functions, you could use your smartphone to complete the majority of daily tasks without having to unfold it.

Camera

The OPPO Find N2 Flip rear camera setup comprises a 50MP paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens with a sensor. The selfie camera is located in a cutout in the center of the inner display, however, it is not that impressive. OPPO is aware of this and doesn’t view it as a concern. This is due to OPPO’s belief that customers won’t use the selfie camera to snap selfies. Instead, they’ll use the camera app on the cover display to benefit from the 50MP primary lens. Instead, video calls will be made using the internal selfie camera.

Performance

The OPPO Find N2 Flip has MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset which can be compared to the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 at least in terms of speed and power. For storage, the phone has  8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage which are not expandable.

The battery on the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is only capable of 3,700mAh, which is significantly less than OPPO Find N2’s 4300 mAh battery. Additionally, it charges significantly more quickly with a cable at 44W – and yes, a charger is included in the box. According to OPPO, you can go from virtually empty to 50% and 100% in under an hour with this. Watch this space as we test these claims.

Pricing and Availability

The Find N2 Flip was launched by OPPO on February 15, 2023, in London. Prior to that, in December 2022, it released the phone exclusively in China. On the other hand, the business confirmed at the London event that the phone would be offered in the UK beginning on March 2, 2023, with pre-orders opening on February 15.

The Find N2 Pro is available for £849 (about Php 56,531) when equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as standard. Only that configuration is available outside of China from OPPO. There are two color choices available: Moonlit Purple and Astral Black.
