SMARTPHONE TIER LIST – UNDER ₱10,000 EDITION UPDATE!

Many smartphones were released at the conclusion of the first quarter of 2023 and we overhauled the tier list even further so here is an updated tier list of smartphones priced under ₱10,000. 😉

Which smartphones are the new Super Sulit? Which ones fell down from the smartphone meta? Are there other smartphones that climbed up to glory? Keep reading to find out! 😇

The first tier is the Sakto lang or in common terms, “decent”. There’s not much to show here other than just barely average smartphones.

First is the ZTE Blade V40 Design which is priced at ₱7,999. It is powered by a Unisoc Tiger T616 with 6/128GB of storage and according to Nanoreview, the Unisoc Tiger T616 scored 230072 in AnTuTu benchmark which is not great but it is still good for its price. Light-medium gaming usage is also acceptable with the smartphone because of its specs and a 4500 mAh battery that supports a 22.5W quick charge which is a huge plus for gamers.

We previously placed this smartphone in the “Super Sulit” tier but there are now better choices for it.

Next up is the iTel Vision 5, it has a UNISOC SC9863A which is lackluster but it makes up for its storage options and for ₱3,799 it is still a good entry-level smartphone. This was demoted from the “Super Sulit” tier. It’s still good but, why choose this if there are significantly better options?

Next is the Needs Improvement tier, where we place smartphones that are barely decent, barebones, and good, but not good enough for the Sakto lang tier.

There is only one smartphone here, and it is the Honor X7a. It has a Helio G37 chipset and it comes with 6/128GB. the price is ₱10,095 but it is still a decent choice if you want a smartphone that is around ₱10k.

Now we enter a realm of above-average smartphones. These smartphones are placed in the Maganda na tier because they offer great specs and features for their price.

To kick things off is the newly added realme C55. It has a Mediatek Helio G88 chipset with 6+128GB storage. For ₱8,999, the smartphone is simply a flex to show how premium features like the “Dynamic Island” can easily be part of budget-friendly phones. This phone seems to have all the features to qualify as the most premium device in the affordable Realme C-lineup.

Infinix SMART 7 is another entry-level smartphone from Infinix. It has a Helio A22 coupled with 3/64GB of storage. Its price starts at ₱3,699 and along with its specs, the phone is Maganda na!

Next is the TECNO Spark Go 2023, it has a Helio A22 chipset which is good for light gaming and as a daily driver. It also has a storage of up to 4/64GB which is not the best but still good for most users. Its price is TBA.

After that is the Redmi 12C, which is absolutely poggers! Want to know why? Well, its price starts at ₱5,499 for a measly 3/32GB storage but it is powered by a Helio G85 processor.

Here we go for the first Infinix phone on the list! The Infinix Hot 20 Play is priced at ₱6,499 and it is a Helio G37 powered phone coupled with 4/128GB storage. It is really a good deal for its price.

And now for the main event, are the Super Sulit smartphones. These smartphones are in our opinion, the best of the best in this tier. They offer superb specs at an aggressive price point.

A new entry in the list is the TECNO Spark 10. For ₱4,999, you will have a smartphone equipped with a Mediatek G37 and a 4+128GB Storage combo. The camera is also great for its price, with a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. The smartphone is a steal because even if it is cheap, TECNO does not compromise the quality of the hardware inside.

Next is the TECNO Spark 10 Pro, which has an Helio G88 coupled with 8/128GB of storage. It should be around ₱6,733 which is an absolute steal! The Helio G88 chipset scored 232432 in the AnTuTu benchmark according to Nanoreview and it is already a good score, especially for its price point. The smartphone also has a 5000 mAh battery with an 18W quick charge. Other smartphones in this tier list have relatively weak chipsets but the TECNO Spark 10 Pro is a beast in this regard.

Lastly, another newcomer is the Redmi Note 12. Starting at ₱8,999, it is nearly a steal because it is equipped with a Snapdragon 685, a 4+128GB storage combo, and a 50+8+2MP rear camera combo with a 16MP selfie camera. The chipset is good enough performance-wise, on par with the Snapdragon 695 but it lacks the 5G feature. Even so, the smartphone is a great choice for a budget of 10k or below.

Well after the main course, is the dessert. A dessert that is extremely lackluster and bland LMAO. There is only a single smartphone here, the Nokia C12.

The Nokia C12 has a UNISOC SC98G3A1 coupled with a 3/64GB storage. It is extremely lackluster for its price of ₱4,590. Other smartphones in this price range have significantly better specs and the phone’s chipset is relatively weak. The smartphone only runs on Android 12 Go edition because it really can’t handle a full-fledged Android. The smartphone looks cool though but there are much better options out there, as seen in our tier list.
