Upgraded Power and Efficiency

Built on a 4-nanometer process, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 offers up to 36 percent faster CPU performance and 59 percent faster GPU power compared to its predecessor. It comes with eight cores, including four performance cores running at 2.4GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. This setup delivers smoother app performance, faster multitasking, and better gaming stability even on affordable smartphones.

Gaming, Display, and Camera Improvements

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 supports displays with up to 144Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, making it ideal for gaming and high-quality streaming. It also adds features like Variable Rate Shading and Game Quick Touch for faster response times during gameplay.

For photography, the chip can handle up to 200MP cameras and 2K video recording with improved noise reduction for clearer low-light shots. Connectivity also gets an upgrade, with support for 5G networks (both mmWave and sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Midrange devices powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 are expected to deliver flagship-like speed, camera quality, and gaming performance without the premium price. Brands like Xiaomi, Motorola, and OPPO are expected to use this chip first, making it an exciting upgrade for markets like the Philippines where value-for-money phones are in high demand.

The big question now is which smartphone makers will launch the first devices using the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and when they will arrive globally. Real-world performance, battery efficiency, and thermal control will determine how strong this chip really is once it hits the market.
