Sony Xperia 1 VI specs leaked: SD 8 Gen 3, LTPO BRAVIA display, 48MP Exmor T with ZEISS optics, IP65/68

The latest flagship Sony Xperia 1 VI is bringing new advancements to the smartphone segment.

Have you been waiting for the Sony Xperia 1 VI? Wait no more because its official announcement is just hours away. That said, the detailed coverage leaked online and it included the key features and specs.

Powering the Sony Xperia 1 VI is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 5,000 mAh battery. Though, the charging rate is not included in the summary.

For the display, Sony dropped the 4K and decided to skip 2K and went straight to 1080p resolution. It’s quite a letdown but at least the Xperia 1 VI will have a longer battery life than its predecessors.

We can’t really tell why the brand opted for it but perhaps it’s connected to mobile gaming. The flagship has three critical features for gamers:

  1. Vapor Chamber Cooler: Addresses heating during heavy use.
  2. Game Enhancer: Enhances viewing during gaming.
  3. FPS Optimizer: Improves frame rate during gaming.

Since most mobile games only support 1080p, there’s no need to go for a higher resolution. Plus, 1080p on mobile is a lot easier for the hardware to handle at the maximum graphics settings and frame rate. But we’ll leave the exact reasoning to Sony.

Other things the Xperia 1 VI offers included:

  • IP65/68 for dust and water resistance and endurance versus water jets
  • BRAVIA image processing engine
  • 19.5:9 aspect ratio
  • Sunlight Vision
  • 240 Hz touch sampling rate
  • Full-stage stereo speakers
  • LTPO display with 1 to 120 Hz refresh rate
  • Hi-Res audio and LDAC
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack

The Xperia lineup is iconic for its camera prowess and the Xperia 1 VI is giving users a 48MP Exmor T sensor with ZEISS optics. The main sensor has a focal length between 24 and 48 millimeters, while the ultra-wide lens has 16 mm focal length. The telephoto lens comes with a focal length range between 85 and 170 mm.

Unlike most Android phones, the Sony Xperia 1 VI is one of the few capable of 4K recording at 120 FPS, and it will combine Photography Pro, Videography Pro, and Cinema Pro into a single app.

Sony Xperia 1 VI will be launched in Black, Platinum Silver, Khaki Green, and Scarlet.
