Ah yes, the old reliable— Tecno Pop 6. For only Php 3,999 SRP, saan kaya siya nabibilang sa ating prestigious smartphone tier list? Let’s analyze the smartphone itself!
Where do we start dito sa Tecno Pop 6? It’s a humble looking, almost lowkey looks like a dependable daily driver at first glance. It comes in a standard box with the smartphone itself gracing the front cover with the text “32GB + 3GB Large Memory”. Hmmm, we can’t say that is large by today standards, pero hindi natin maide-deny na malaki naman ang battery capacity niya at 5000mAh. The way the box opens isn’t your usual two piece phone box that can also open if you hold it high above the ground and let gravity do its work. No, it’s like a box inside a sleeve na kailangan mo munang alisin to reach the contents inside.
Inside, makikita mo kaagad ang unit after breaking the tamper seal, then makikita mo ang kaniyang microUSB charging cable at 5V na charger na medyo maliit, aakalain mo pa na charger. Then makikita ang hard case, warranty card, guide, at ang sim ejector pin.
This phone feels like a nostalgia affair as this phone looks like this was made from 2013. It’s thick bezel might be too outdated by 2022 standards, but at only Php 3,999 it should be fine.
And that’s it! Let’s summarize what we love and don’t like about the Tecno Pop 6:\
✔ The price (Php 3,999)
✔ The battery (5000mAh)
✔ The back design (not fingerprint prone and with textured honeycomb design)
✘ Thick, distracting bezel all around
✘ 5W charging brick (or keychain because of how small it is), not efficient to charge the phone decently
✘ So-so processor (MediaTek MT6739WA)
✘ microUSB charging port
✘ Half-decent camera set-up
Pagtapos ng medyo matagal-tagal na usapan at debate about kung saan namin ilalagay ito, we decided that this phone is Sakto Lang. It’s fairly decent, and a nice choice if you’re looking for a smartphone na hindi kamahalan and at the same time, isa kang casual phone user, or for backup purposes, puwede ring smartphone for the young ito.
