TECNO has officially launched the POP X 5G in India, introducing a smartphone focused on long battery life, durability, and reliable connectivity. The new model is aimed at users who need dependable daily performance along with communication tools that can work even in weak-signal areas.
The TECNO POP X 5G packs a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging, designed to support extended use throughout the day. Despite the large battery, the phone measures 8.18mm thin and uses a 6-series aerospace-grade aluminum camera module for added structural strength.
TECNO says the device has been drop-tested and carries an IP64 Pro rating, offering resistance against dust and water splashes.
Up front, the smartphone features a 6.78-inch HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 560 nits brightness.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 6nm processor with an octa-core setup consisting of 2x Cortex-A76 cores at 2.5GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, paired with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
It comes in 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM options with 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, while expandable storage supports up to 2TB via microSD card.
One of the standout features is FreeLink Communication, which allows direct connection with nearby compatible devices without relying on mobile networks. Users can make voice calls, send text messages, and share files within a 1.5km range in open areas. TECNO says this is ideal for basements, warehouses, construction sites, and remote farms.
Standard connectivity features include 4×4 MIMO and 5G+ carrier aggregation for improved network stability and faster data performance.
For cameras, the POP X 5G includes a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The device runs Android 16 with HiOS 16 on top and includes several AI-powered features such as:
