After weeks of teasers and leaks, TECNO has finally confirmed when the Pova 8 5G will make its debut. The smartphone is set to launch in India on June 11 at 12 PM local time, with the company also revealing a closer look at its design and one of its biggest features.

Based on the official teaser, the Pova 8 5G sports a bold new look that stands out from previous Pova devices. The rear panel features a small dot matrix display integrated into the camera module, alongside a faux transparent design that draws obvious comparisons to Nothing’s design language.
The teaser also confirms another headline feature: an 8,000mAh battery. That matches the capacity of the recently announced Pova Curve 2, making it one of the largest batteries TECNO has fitted into a smartphone so far.
While TECNO has yet to reveal the complete specifications, previous certifications and benchmark listings have already filled in some of the blanks. According to an earlier Geekbench appearance, the Pova 8 5G will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 chipset.
The device is also expected to arrive with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, paired with 128GB or 256GB of storage. On the software side, the smartphone is tipped to run Android 16 out of the box.
Battery charging details have also surfaced through FCC certification documents. The listing suggests the Pova 8 5G will support 45W wired charging, helping replenish its massive battery more quickly.
With an 8,000mAh battery, Android 16, and a distinctive dot matrix rear display, the Pova 8 5G appears to be shaping up as one of Tecno’s most ambitious Pova-series smartphones yet.
