TECNO has officially unveiled the POVA 8 5G. The device made its global debut on June 11, 2026, with India becoming the first market to receive it. Availability in additional regions is expected to be announced in the coming months.
One of the standout features of the TECNO POVA 8 5G is its distinctive design. Inspired by an interstellar spaceship aesthetic, the phone features a geometric rear camera module paired with a semi transparent back panel that gives it a futuristic appearance. Yes, it looks like it is inspired by Nothing.
Adding to the visual flair is the new Alive Matrix Display located on the rear panel. This customizable LED lighting system responds to incoming calls, notifications, music playback, gaming activities, charging status, and other alerts. TECNO says users can choose from 49 preset lighting effects or create their own animations for a more personalized experience.
Battery life is another major highlight of the POVA 8 5G. The device packs a massive 8,000mAh battery that carries TÜV SÜD certification for up to two days of regular usage. According to TECNO, the battery can deliver over 60 hours of voice calls, 85 hours of music playback, 29 hours of YouTube streaming, and more than 14 hours of gaming on a single charge.
TECNO also claims the battery is built for longevity, retaining more than 80% of its original health after 2,000 charging cycles. The company says this translates to as much as six years of reliable battery performance.
For photography, the POVA 8 5G is equipped with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera that was co developed with Sony to improve image quality and light capture. The camera supports 2x lossless zoom, allowing users to get closer to subjects without a significant reduction in detail. On the front, the phone features a 13MP selfie camera for video calls and social media content.
TECNO also enhances the imaging experience with AI LightMaster 2.0, a feature designed to reduce lens flare, reflections, and unwanted shadows in photos.
Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 5G chipset. TECNO pairs the processor with its G1 Signal Enhancement Chip and SE1 Wi Fi Enhancement Chip to improve connectivity in challenging environments. The company says the setup can help maintain stronger cellular and wireless signals in locations such as elevators, basements, and crowded areas.
The smartphone also features a 144Hz eye care display, delivering smoother scrolling, gaming, and overall navigation.
On the software side, the POVA 8 5G includes several AI powered features such as AI YouTube Summary, AI Writing, AI Theme Generator, AI LightMaster 2.0, and All Scenario Noise Cancellation.
TECNO is also committing to two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates for the device.
Additional benefits include 256GB of free cloud storage for three years. In selected markets, buyers will also receive a three month Google AI Plus trial that includes 2TB of cloud storage.
