Telkomsel and ZTE strengthen collaboration to develop 5G solutions for corporate and industrial segments in Indonesia 

Telkomsel and ZTE signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand business partnerships in the study and development of 5G solutions for the Enterprise (corporate) segment in Indonesia

  • With this collaboration, Telkomsel and ZTE will work together in developing a new product portfolio by adopting Cloud PC for both the corporate and public sectors
  • Telkomsel and ZTE will also explore opportunities to work together in joint studies and studies related to 5G Air-to-Ground technology for the aviation market

Barcelona, Spain, 28 February 2023 – Telkomsel and ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of information and communication technology solutions, strengthen the collaboration established through a collaboration commitment to developing the utilization of 5G services for the Enterprise (corporate) segment in Indonesia. This joint synergy was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding which was carried out directly by Wong Soon Nam as Chief Planning and Transformation Officer of Telkomsel and Mei Zhonghua as SVP of ZTE, on 27 February 2023, coinciding with the moment of the 2023 Mobile World Conference held in Barcelona, Spain.

By utilizing Cloud PC technology, which can incorporate virtualization, centralized management, and sharing of computing, storage, and network resources, Telkomsel and ZTE will work in unison to establish a portfolio of cutting-edge product and service solutions. The two businesses will also look into potential areas of collaboration in their research of 5G Air-to-Ground network technologies.

The partnership between Telkomsel and ZTE in creating the 5G service ecosystem has been ongoing for the past few years and has made significant progress toward promoting equitable access to broadband using cutting-edge technologies.

ZTE will enable Telkomsel as it becomes the first digital telecommunications firm to roll out 5G network access and services in Indonesia in 2021 as one of the network infrastructure partners. Then, in 2022, Telkomsel will also have ZTE’s cooperation to introduce the first Southeast Asian use of 5G Underground Smart Mining technology within PT Freeport Indonesia’s mining operations to enhance the operating and digitization of the Indonesian mining sector.

Telkomsel and ZTE will continue to strengthen their partnership in the future to accelerate the strengthening of the ecosystem with various proven leading product and service solutions in multiple countries.
