Xiaomi is preparing the Xiaomi 18 with Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, a new camera setup, and five color options. A new leak from Digital Chat Station also reveals details about the phone’s design and possible pricing.
Five colors, familiar design
The Xiaomi 18 will reportedly come in:
- Black
- White
- Pink
- Blue
- Red
The phone will also retain the square camera module in the upper-left corner, similar to the Xiaomi 17.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
The Xiaomi 18 will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, which is being built on TSMC’s 2nm process.
Leaked chipset specifications include:
- CPU: Qualcomm Oryon
- CPU configuration: 2 Prime + 3 Performance + 3 Efficiency cores
- Cache: 16MB shared L2
- GPU: Adreno 845
- Memory: LPDDR5X
Dual 200MP Leica cameras
The camera system could also see a major change compared with the Xiaomi 17.
The Xiaomi 17 uses three 50MP cameras, while the Xiaomi 18 is rumored to switch to a dual 200MP Leica camera system.
The reported setup includes:
- Main camera: 200MP large sensor
- Telephoto: 200MP periscope
- Telephoto range: Longer than the previous generation
The exact sensor sizes and zoom specifications have not been revealed.
Price could jump
The Xiaomi 18 could start at more than CNY 5,499, compared with the Xiaomi 17’s CNY 4,499 starting price.
Xiaomi Group president Lu Weibing has previously addressed rising memory costs, saying they could remain elevated through at least the end of 2027 and potentially into 2028.
That could put continued pricing pressure on smartphones beyond the Xiaomi 18.
