These Xiaomi smartphones will no longer receive software updates!

Xiaomi is no stranger to controversy when it comes to software support for Xiaomi smartphones. They’ve made a bold move by discontinuing updates for models that can’t handle the latest hardware-dependent versions.

They’re not shy about it either. Xiaomi keeps users informed through their EOS list, which reveals the unlucky devices that have lost update support. So, let’s get to the juicy details!

In this ever-evolving smartphone market, where new devices flood the scene every day, it’s a tough game for models that lack the necessary hardware chops to keep up with the latest software updates. While some companies make killer phones with incredible features and designs, they often fall short in the update support department, and that’s where Xiaomi comes into play.

Xiaomi has its fair share of supporters and detractors, thanks to its two-year software support policy. They periodically update their official EOS list, which marks the end of the update journey for certain devices. This means that smartphones on this list will no longer receive MIUI, Android, or security updates. In case of a major security vulnerability, Xiaomi will still provide updates, even if the devices are no longer officially supported. It’s not a total dead end.

This is the list of Xiaomi models that have lost update support as of June 2023.
