Netflix is known for its extensive library of movies and TV shows, offering viewers a vast selection to choose from. With so many options, it can be difficult to determine which movies are worth watching. With this in mind, we have compiled a list of the top 10 best movies on Netflix this January 2023. These films are handpicked based on their critical and popular acclaim, their cultural significance, and their ability to captivate and entertain audiences of all ages. Whether you’re looking for a heartwarming drama, a thrilling action-adventure, or a thought-provoking documentary, this list has something for everyone. So sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show!

10. You People

In You People, a young couple and their families deal with modern love while navigating generational divides, cultural conflicts, and societal expectations. The majority of viewers really liked this film! It offers some understanding of several religions (muslim and judaism). You must accept it as it is. It is also okay for a more mature 12-year-old and older.

9. The Pale Blue Eye

Its plot follows seasoned detective Augustus Landor in 1830 West Point, New York, as he works with young military cadet Edgar Allan Poe to look into a string of killings at the United States Military Academy. Its plot is similar to that of Edger Allen Poe’s gloomy drama/crime/thriller; if you don’t like that sort of thing, I suppose you should watch Avengers.

8. Jung_E

This one is about a researcher at an AI facility spearheads that attempts to put an end to a civil war in a post-apocalyptic near-future by replicating the brain of a brave soldier—her mother. Without introducing anything new to the A.I., the movie does use more than a few elements from series and movies like Westworld, Blade Runner, Robocop, Ex Machina, and Universal Soldier. debate. The human drama at the core of writer-director Yeon’s future spectacle, however, more than makes up for it with its tragic and therapeutic nature. JUNG E’s powerful dramatic beats inject considerable humanity into a worn-out and formulaic premise, which are anchored by outstanding performances from Kim and Kang.

7. An Action Hero

This movie portrays the story where a murder accusation turns a movie star’s own life into an eccentric action thriller as he flees the country, with a vengeful politician hot on his heels.

An Action Hero” is by no means an intellectual film, but it succeeds in making fun of the media’s role in ginning up celebrities while also attempting to “cancel” them by constantly searching for scandals involving famous people in order to try to raise the profile of disgraced figures who are deemed deserving of a comeback. The film mocks all of the sensationalist, tabloid strategies that have become standard in the media. The satirical observations in “An Action Hero” elevate it above the typical formulaic action movie.

6. The Raid 2: Berandal

Rama, a rookie Jakarta police officer, believes he can continue a normal life after surviving a brutal confrontation with strong gangsters. But even more dangerous villains than before had been interested in his exploits during that tragic occasion. Rama is forced to hide since his family is in danger. He ends up in jail, where he makes friends with the young son of a well-known mafia boss. To finally bring down the criminal organization, Rama must risk his own life. This movie is not new but it was recently added to Netflix and its an absolute action banger!

5. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

This masterpiece is about Scott Pilgrim, the bassist for a garage-rock band, who has never had trouble finding girlfriends; usually, the issue is breaking them up. Ramona Flowers, however, glides into his heart, and when she does, he discovers that she has the most burdensome baggage of all: a legion of ex-boyfriends who will do whatever it takes to remove him off her list of suitors.

This is among Edgar Wright’s finest works. One of the best graphic novel adaptations I’ve ever seen is “Scott Pilgrim,” if not the best. I listened to the director’s commentary, and a nice fact I learned was that they really arranged all the posters in the background of the music store scenes to make them look more like the original comic. These minute elements give the movie its amazing quality.

4. Begin Again

In this movie, College sweethearts and songwriting partners Gretta (Keira Knightley) and Dave (Adam Levine) move to New York when Dave gets a record deal with a major label. However, the trappings of his sudden popularity quickly persuade Dave to wander, leaving a reeling, love-struck Gretta all by herself.

Despite being straightforward, the tale is quite nicely done. Producer of music Ruffalo has been bingeing for years and is hoping the right thing will come along to revive him. The characters in this film demonstrate how life still gets in the way, as it does for everyone, yet they are still able to pull one other toward a happier existence. The movie also has fantastic soundtrack throughout, making for a wonderful viewing experience.

3. Grease

In this legendary ensemble movie-musical, teenage lovers-turned-classmates Sandy and Danny struggle to balance unrequited feelings, new friendships, and other factors. It makes sense that many individuals start singing one of the numerous fantastically contagious songs as soon as they hear the word “Grease.” Grease will take you on the movie experience of a lifetime with a magnificent emotional rollercoaster. The epic couple, expertly portrayed by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, took control of the show and made their tumultuous love story the main focus.

2. Stealing Raden Saleh

The storyline and execution in this movie is what stands out the most. A master forger recruits a diverse group of experts to help him steal a priceless painting in order to save his father. Even with the twists and turns, the story telling—which I generally find missing in most Indonesian films—is excellent. 2,5 hours fly by thanks to excellent pacing. Excellent character introduction and growth to pique the interest of the viewer. No personality is wasted. The casts clearly poured themselves into their characters to provide such outstanding performance.

1. Dog Gone

Dog Gone is about a young man who goes on an amazing hunt with his parents to find his pet dog after he goes missing so they may give him life-saving medication. Absolutely outstanding film which shows that a dog is  aA man’s best friend . No matter what, dogs will be there for you and will love you unconditionally. It’s crucial to provide our furry friends the best care possible. They are so devoted to us and give us so much affection that they only deserve the best . This explains why this movie was the best movie on Netflix this month
