We’re back again with another UD Versus, this time we’re pitting two of the most compelling mid-range Android tablets: the Infinix XPAD GT and the REDMI Pad Pro.
Both of these tablets offer exceptional performance in almost similar price points, so it begs the question: Which should you choose as your next Android tablet?
Round 1: Design & Display
Storming out of the gate is the Infinix XPAD GT with an all-aluminum build, measuring just 6.5mm thick and weighing 655 g. It’s remarkably thin for its size but places on the heavier side due to its massive display. Design-wise, the XPAD GT remains mostly minimalist but with a hint of its gamer-y aesthetic.
On the other hand, the REDMI Pad Pro offers a much more iPad-like aesthetic, just a clean metal unibody design. It’s a bit thicker than the XPAD GT at 7.52mm but makes up for by being lighter at 571 g. It also boasts a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the display.
Moving on to the Display, both tablets offer big IPS LCD displays but slightly differ in specs:
- Infinix XPAD GT: Coming in at a towering 13-inch, it comes with a high 2.8K resolution (2880 x 1840 pixels) plus an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Let’s be honest, no one uses a tablet outdoors, mostly it’s used for watching movies or playing games indoors so the 700 nits peak brightness shouldn’t be an issue, but hey, at least it has support for HDR10.
- REDMI Pad Pro: A bit smaller at 12.1-inch but still a large display nonetheless, it puts up a respectable 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels) and a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The REDMI Pad Pro is a bit more feature-rich than the XPAD GT because of its support for Dolby Vision, Hi-Res Audio, and a TÜV Rheinland triple certifications for eye protection.
Winner: If you’re after ther larger, brighter, and smoother display, we suggest you opt for the Infinix XPAD GT. But if you want a more manageable experience plus a feature-packed display, the REDMI Pad Pro certainly puts up quite the fight.
Round 2: Performance
Both tablets come with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets but that’s where the similarities end. One opted for an older but more established chipset while the other opted for something more current and safe.
We’re of course talking about the XPAD GT opting for a Snapdragon 888 chip, a flagship chip from 4 years ago. Complementing that choice is 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Because of the SD 888’s notorious reputation for heating up, Infinix chose to put in a vapor chamber-based cooling system to help alleviate the negative effects of such a powerful chip.
While the XPAD GT opted to brute-force its way towards the top, the REDMI Pad Pro opted for the more modern and efficient route with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. It also comes with a slower 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Although one advantage that the Pad Pro poses over the XPAD GT is the capability to expand storage up to 1.5TB via microSD.

While in Geekbench, here’s how the two tablets fared:
Winner: It’s clear that despite being a 4 year old chip at this point, the XPAD GT’s SD 888 still blows the more modern SD 7s Gen 2 of the REDMI Pad Pro. So,hands down, it’s the Infinix XPAD GT.
Round 3: Camera
Tablets really aren’t known for their stellar camera performance, most of these cameras are used for things like video calls, document scanning, and the occasional snaps. Still, wouldn’t hurt to try them out.
The Infinix XPAD GT features:
- 13MP rear camera (with LED flash): Capable of decent photos and 1080p video recording.
- 9MP front camera: Good for video calls and selfies, also supports 1080p video. The camera setup is straightforward, focusing on functionality.
The REDMI Pad Pro comes with:
- 8MP rear camera (with LED flash): Functional for document scanning and basic photography.
- 8MP front camera: Features “FocusFrame” to keep you centered during video calls, which is a nice touch. Both cameras support 1080p video recording.
Winner: Tech specs are just one side of the story, the real thing still lies on the quality it produces but if we’re only going by tech specs, we’ll give it to the Infinix XPAD GT.
Round 4: Battery & Charging
Given that tablets are treated as entertainment hubs or productivity companions, it’s only right that they include large batteries to power that big display as well as their powerful chipsets.
In a lucky stroke of fate, these two tablets have the same amount of battery, 10000 mAh with the same rate of charging at 33W. Both manufacturers claim up to 12 hours of continuous video playback and an impressive standby time.
Winner: Given that both tablets feature the same amount and same charging rate, we’ll call this one a draw.
Round 5: Software & Connectivity
Both tablets run Android 14 out of the box but wrapped in each of their customUI. The XPAD GT runs XOS while the Pad Pro runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS. Both are Wi-Fi only tablets but there’s also a cellular version for the REDMI Pad Pro.
Probably a standout feature of the XPAD GT is its 8 stereo speaker setup with support for DTS audio. There’s also AI in the XPAD GT through Infinix’s Folax voice assistant. Meanwhile, the REDMI Pad Pro only has a quad speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support. Although, the Xiaomi ecosystem does offer a wide range of accessories to boost your productivity, like the REDMI Smart Pen and Bluetooth Keyboard case.
Winner: If you’re looking for a more expansive and potentially powerful audio experience with 8 speakers, the Infinix XPAD GT might be a good choice. But, if you’re looking to balance work and play then the REDMI Pad Pro is your go to.
UD Verdict: Which Tablet Deserves Your Peso?
It mainly depends on what you’re looking for, but if you’re just looking for the biggest and most powerful then it’s hands down the Infinix XPAD GT. Raw performance isn’t your priority? Then opt for the REDMI Pad Pro.
I guess it all boils down to the price. As of this writing, the Infinix XPAD GT retails for ₱18,767 on Infinix’s official Shopee online store. While the REDMI Pad Pro retails for about ₱13,999 – ₱14,999 depending on the storage configuration.
