The itel A80 is powered by the Unisoc T603, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and 5,000 mAh. Although they look okay for an entry-level unit, there are some notable downsides when you dig deeper.
Are you okay with 215K AnTuTu points? That’s the current score of Unisoc T603, the same chipset on the previous model, the itel A70.
An onboard memory of 4 GB is mediocre these days, thanks to heavy apps. Standard versions of popular social media apps may experience some sluggishness. Even if you turn on the virtual memory expansion, it won’t help much. Willing to go for Lite apps?
The 128 GB internal storage is okay for the price since you can insert up to 2 TB of microSD for pics, vids, and more. But don’t expect to store lots of apps and games because Android 14 won’t let you move the app files. Willing to root the phone just for that?
The 5,000 mAh battery capacity is typical these days, however, it’s a bit disappointing that the brand didn’t increase the charging rate to 15 W. The itel A80 and A70 share the same charging speed. Why burden yourself?
For the camera, photos are decent enough with the 50 MP main sensor and 8 MP selfie shooter. Don’t expect 4K or OIS on this handset though.

Despite being slightly smaller and having the eyesore dewdrop cutout, the itel P55 5G sports 5G connectivity and the faster MediaTek Dimensity 6080 with 436K AnTuTu points. You need to add almost 2K for this.
Can’t go beyond 5K? Perhaps the itel P65 is more fitting. It has the same screen specs as the itel A80, but the former has the better Unisoc T616 and 18 W fast charging.
