Unihertz has introduced the Jelly Max, proclaimed as the world’s smallest 5G smartphone. This device is now the subject of a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, offering early bird backers the opportunity to purchase it for a starting price of $199(~₱11,598.42). Despite its diminutive form factor, the Jelly Max boasts impressive specifications:
The Jelly Max is equipped with a 5.05-inch LCD display featuring a 720 x 1520 resolution and a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. While compact, the device weighs a substantial 180g and measures 128.7 x 62.7 x 16.3mm,contrasting with the slightly larger dimensions of the iPhone 13 mini at 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.65mm.
Powering the Jelly Max is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, a notable upgrade from the Helio G99 found in previous models. This chipset is complemented by an ample 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, facilitating smooth performance across a range of applications, including light gaming.
The primary sensor boasts a high-resolution 100MP count, while an 8MP telephoto lens and a 32MP front-facing camera cater to various photographic needs.
The device houses a 4000mAh battery, which is commendable given its compact size. Furthermore, the Jelly Max supports 66W fast charging, enabling a charge to 90% in approximately 20 minutes.
Running on the Android 14 operating system, the Jelly Max offers a comprehensive suite of connectivity options, including 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an infrared port. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor provides added security.
Unihertz anticipates commencing shipments of the Jelly Max in October of this year.
