Vivamax Philippines hit by data breach, exposing over 6.8 million subcribers data

A staggering data breach has compromised the personal information of over 6.8 million Vivamax Philippines subscribers. The breach, disclosed by a hacker known as “BitBanish,” involved the theft of sensitive data through API scraping and unauthorized access to admin privileges.

Additionally, a separate 1GB file containing detailed transaction information for each subscriber was exposed, revealing subscription status, content consumption, and Apple subscription details.

The gravity of this breach cannot be overstated. With access to such comprehensive personal data, cybercriminals can potentially execute identity theft, phishing attacks, and other malicious activities.

If you believe your information may have been compromised, it is crucial to:

  • Closely monitor your financial and online accounts for suspicious activity.
  • Change passwords for all online accounts and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible.
  • Be wary of phishing attempts that may exploit this data breach.
