Back in MWC 2026, vivo gave a first look at their upcoming X300 Ultra. It sent a message that when it comes to camera performance, vivo isn’t playing around. For now, it’s only available in China but vivo said that it has plans to launch the X300 Ultra on the global stage sometime in the future.
If and when that date comes, the vivo X300 Ultra will surely be the “Ultra to rule all Ultras.”
At Its Core
vivo’s X300 Pro is already impressive as it is. We even compared it to the iPhone 17 Pro which is equally impressive. Spoiler Alert: The vivo X300 Pro comes out on top. The vivo X300 Ultra on the other hand, takes it a step further with a “near 1-inch” primary sensor developed in partnership with ZEISS.
The sensor used is a 200 MP Sony LYT-901 that’s designed to take in a lot of light to retain shadows, highlights, and other features even in the most challenging dark conditions. If you think that that’s impressive, wait till you hear about the telephoto capability of the X300 Ultra.
Equipped with a 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP0 periscope telephoto lens, the X300 Ultra can zoom up to 3.7x optical with gimbal-level OIS, and that’s without the extender lens that’s found in the photography kit. Having a zoom like that is not only useful for long range shots, it also gives your portrait shots that creamy background even without using the dedicated portrait mode.
And to round it all up, there’s also a 50 MP Sony LYT-818 ultra-wide lens that uses a VCS Bionic spectrum to ensure color consistency across all focal lengths. Well, what does that mean? It used to be that shots taken from the ultra-wide seem to differ vastly in quality and sharpness, well that’s no longer the case because along with the 5 MP multi spectral sensor, all shots whether taken with the main sensor or the ultra-wide come out just the same.
The Best of the Best
Of course, the best only deserves the best, am I right? Which is why vivo equipped the X300 Ultra with the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It’s also paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Whether it’s recording 4K 120fps videos, playing Wuthering Waves at max settings, or doing complex AI stuff, the vivo X300 Ultra does all of that and more without breaking a sweat.
And as with any flagship vivo device, you can expect amazing visuals, especially with the X300 Ultra’s 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It can light up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and even at those levels, visuals stay beautiful, thanks to the ZEISS Master Color calibration.
To power all that, you’ll find a 6,000 mAh Silicon Carbon (Si/C) Li-Ion battery in a package that stays remarkably slim at 8.19mm. If you need to top it off, the 100W wired FlashCharge and 50W wireless charging should only keep you for a few minutes. There’s no doubt in my mind that even with such a powerful chipset and camera system, the vivo X300 Ultra lasts a whole full day, maybe even more with moderate usage.
One More Trick Up Their Sleeve
Aside from the X300 Ultra, vivo also introduced the X300s, a similarly spec’d phone to the X300 Pro with a few key differences. These differences include a faster refresh rate, 144Hz to the X300 Pro’s 120Hz, larger battery at 7,100 mAh, and a better 200 MP Samsung HPB main sensor.
Besides that, most of it’s the same as the X300 Pro.
Pricing and Availability
Now, take note that these prices are in Chinese Yuan, local prices may change because of various reasons, reasons we won’t go into detail about. Although this gives us a good idea of what to expect when the X300 Ultra launches globally.
