vivo revamped their Y55s with 5G for global market

The remake saga continues for vivo as they upgrade their older models into a fresher, newer look with added modern features

This time, vivo has released yet another phone with the same model name, proving that the company enjoys remaking its previous models. The Y55s from 2017 and the Y55s 5G from 2021 should not be confused with it. However, its specifications are quite similar to the latter. However, this new Y55s 5G is made for markets outside of the United States.

The new vivo Y55s model has a smaller 5,000 mAh battery than its namesake, which has a 6,000 mAh capacity. This is the main difference that can be seen. There is still 18W charging available besides that. Its other specifications all appear to be the same.

The phone weighs 187 grams and has dimensions of 164 x 75.84 x 8.25mm. It comes in two colors: galaxy blue and star black.

6.58-inch FullHD+ (2408 x 1080) LCD, MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of non-expandable storage are all included in this device. As opposed to the 2021 variant, there is no 8GB RAM option.

The phone also features dual SIM 5G support, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB Type-C port with OTG support, FM radio, NFC, and a wide range of sensors, including a side-mounted fingerprint reader, gravity, light, proximity, compass, and gyroscope.

A 50MP, f/1.8 main camera and two additional 2MP, f/2.4 cameras on the back—one for portrait depth information and the other for macro photography—make up the camera department. Technically, that means the phone has one more camera than the 2021 version.

There is an 8MP, f/1.8 selfie camera on the front. Priced at $263 or around ₱14,000 for the 4GB plus 128GB variant and $280 (around ₱15,000) for the higher-end 6GB plus 128GB model, the new global vivo Y55s 5G is available now.
