After a seven-year hiatus, vivo has officially revived its S series in India with the launch of the vivo S2. Succeeding the vivo S1 from 2019, the new model arrives with a refreshed design inspired by the vivo X300 FE, a curved AMOLED display, a massive 7,050mAh battery, and long-term software support. The device is also rumored to make its global debut as the vivo V80 Lite 5G.
The vivo S2 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset and runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. vivo is promising three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, giving the phone one of the longer software support policies in its segment.
Camera duties are handled by a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor and vivo’s Aura Light ring flash, while a 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.
The phone also packs a 7,050mAh battery with 44W fast charging and bypass charging, alongside features such as dual stereo speakers, IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H durability, Bluetooth 5.4, and AI SuperLink.
