Why you might ask? Well, we recently had the opportunity to welcome some students for a brief work immersion here at Unbox Diaries. Although brief, the website team was fortunate enough to have the time to show them the ropes in everything that goes into writing a review.

But why choose the vivo V60 5G? Personally, I think the vivo V60 5G is a great all-around mid-range device for its price. It’s stylish (premium even!), has a great set of camera, it’s decently powerful, and the battery life is second to none.

Alright, I’ve yapped on for long enough. Here’s the complete, unadulterated review of the vivo V60 5G, made by Mica, Vince, James, and Michael.

The vivo V60 5G dominates in camera and battery. While the competition pushes for gaming and flashy designs, vivo doubles down on what it’s best known for… photography and long-lasting battery!

Unboxing

Opening the box, you get the vivo V60 5G itself, a 90W FlashCharge adapter, a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, a color-matched silicone case, a SIM eject tool, and a few documents which includes the Quick Start Guide and Safety Information.

The 90W charger being included already feels like a win. Especially now that some brands don’t include it. You don’t have to buy anything extra just to unlock the phone’s full charging speed. It also comes pre-installed with a screen protector and a silicon case for protection.

Design

First impressions? The vivo V60 5G feels surprisingly slim for something packing a 6500 mAh battery. It doesn’t feel bulky or heavy. Usually a battery that size makes a phone feel like a brick, but the vivo V60 5G stays surprisingly pocket-friendly.

It’s also IP69 rated, basically saying that not only is it “waterproof”, it can also take high-temperature water jets; even if you drop it in water, you won’t have to worry much about it (Editor’s Note: Just don’t do it on purpose…).

Display

The vivo V60 5G features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution (2392 x 1080) and a 120Hz refresh rate. Overall, the scrolling feels smooth because of the 120Hz panel. For streaming, browsing, and the casual doomscroll, it performs exactly how an AMOLED display in this range should.

Camera

The vivo V60 5G includes a 50 MP ZEISS Periscope lens that is perfect for concert or stolen shots. For some, it is the dream phone for portraits and selfie addicts because of the ZEISS technology. It also delivers sharp photos with dynamic range and natural skin tone which proves vivo’s focus on portrait photography.

Users praise features like Telephoto Stage Portrait, AI Four-Season Portrait, and AI Magic Move that adds creative options from the camera app. Its ability to zoom up to 100x also helps deliver a striking close-up detail.

Although the 8 MP Ultra-wide is just in the “pwede na” or passable side. Naturally, we took to Reddit to see what users who bought it thought about the camera and indeed users have claimed that the details during the night time seem to fall out.

Performance

The vivo V60 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Another thing to consider is its usage of UFS 2.2 storage. With the price of almost 30K, you would expect it to have at least UFS 3.1 or 4.0 for faster loading.

Again, drawing feedbacks from Reddit, users have mentioned that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 overheats from hardcore games like Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero, basically saying that it isn’t fit for high performance gaming. (Editor’s Note: But then again, the vivo V60 5G isn’t really made for raw performance, it’s for taking photos)

Final Thoughts

The vivo V60 5G stands next to its retail box. The phone's screen displays a bright, icy blue abstract wallpaper, while the black box clearly shows the "V60" model name and the ZEISS co-engineering logo.

Overall, you should buy the vivo V60 5G if: You are a content creator or photography enthusiast who wants flagship-level portraits without the flagship price or a heavy traveler who needs a long-lasting battery and a durable phone that can survive accidental dips in water.
