vivo has expanded its mid-range lineup with the vivo V70, a smartphone that pairs a large battery and premium materials with a modern, flat-panel design. Officially launched in China, the V70 brings a 6,500 mAh battery, flat 6.59-inch display, and aluminum frame, making it a compelling choice for users who want durability and endurance without high-end pricing.
The vivo V70 sports a 6.59-inch IPS LCD with FHD+ resolution (2412 × 1080) and a 120 Hz refresh rate, offering smoother animations and scrolling compared with standard 60 Hz screens. Unlike many curved-edge designs today, the V70 goes with a flat display for a more utilitarian look and feel. An aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass protection add to the device’s structural integrity, contrasting with the more common plastic builds in this segment.
Under the hood, the vivo V70 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7250 5G chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage comes in a 256GB UFS 2.2 configuration, a generous amount for the segment. The phone runs Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14, which brings vivo’s usual suite of software features and customization options.
Battery life is a highlight: the V70 packs a 6,500 mAh cell, significantly larger than the typical 5,000–5,500 mAh batteries found in many mid-range phones today. This capacity promises strong endurance for daily use, gaming, and media playback. The phone supports 44 W wired charging over USB-C, which vivo says can recharge the battery quickly enough to keep users going without long downtime.
On the imaging side, the vivo V70 includes a 50 MP main camera with a 2 MP portrait shooter. The setup covers basic everyday photography needs, though it stays modest relative to flagship camera systems. Selfies and video chats are handled by an 8 MP front camera built into a centered punch-hole cutout in the display.
Other essential features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, and the standard connectivity suite: 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
At launch in China, the vivo V70 is priced at around CNY 1,899 (₱15,965*), positioning it competitively in the mid-range segment. It’s available in Black, Blue, and Pink color options. vivo has not yet announced plans for a global or Philippine release, but the device’s combination of endurance, build quality, and performance suggests it could appeal to a broad market once released internationally.
