Huang Tao, vivo VP revealed that the vivo X Fold2 will be the officially designated phone of the 2023 Boao Forum. The new foldable will showcase Chinese innovation, technology, and design, and the executive anticipates leaks and spy photos to surface before the announcement in April
The phone is expected to have a 4,800 mAh battery with 120W fast charging which is a staple for most foldables. According to a now-deleted post by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the X Fold2 is also expected to have a camera with a Sony IMX866 sensor, OIS, and V2 ISP. This means the main camera will be the same as the 50MP shooter on the vivo X90 and iQOO 11 Pro.
Dual ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, one for each screen, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU are other speculated specifications. That would be a first for the foldable industry; until now, makers have stuck with a sensor built into the power key.
By its launch, the vivo X Fold2 is anticipated to include a clamshell vivo X Flip, and we might also see a new tablet called the vivo Pad 2. We expect to find out more in the days and weeks ahead as April rapidly approaches.
