vivo continues to reveal more details about its upcoming vivo X Fold6 ahead of its official launch next week. The latest teasers confirm the foldable’s battery capacity, durability ratings, connectivity upgrades, and color options.
In a post on Weibo, vivo product manager Han Boxiao confirmed that the vivo X Fold6 will pack a 7,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries in a flagship foldable smartphone.
According to the executive, the battery utilizes an industry-first fifth-generation silicon anode technology alongside third-generation semi-solid-state battery technology.
vivo claims the X Fold6 can provide up to 9.8 hours of battery life under heavy usage, representing a 30% improvement compared to its predecessor, the vivo X Fold5.
Durability is also getting an upgrade.
The company confirmed that the X Fold6 will carry IPX8 and IPX9 water-resistance ratings, while also featuring an upgraded hinge designed to improve long-term reliability.
In addition, vivo says the foldable will offer an enhanced communication system equipped with new Wi-Fi antennas and signal amplification antennas to improve connectivity performance.
vivo recently showcased the X Fold6 in a teaser video, and the company has now officially revealed the device’s color options.
The foldable will be available in:
- Blue Hole
- Salt Lake
- Polar Night
A special Black Gold Edition featuring gold accents will also be offered.
vivo has already confirmed several key specifications ahead of launch. The X Fold6 will feature an 8.02-inch foldable display, a 200MP main rear camera, and OriginOS 6 Fold software.
Powering the device will be a special edition version of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset.
The vivo X Fold6 is scheduled to launch in China on June 26, with vivo expected to reveal additional details in the days leading up to the announcement.
