The vivo X500 is about to look very different from the X300. Ahead of its September 21 launch in China, vivo has revealed the phone’s redesigned rear panel, giving the standard model a camera layout of its own.

The biggest change is the camera island. Instead of the X300’s design, the X500 features a large circular camera section positioned toward the left, sitting inside a raised rectangular plateau that runs across the phone’s rear. The LED flash is placed separately outside the circular module.
More importantly, vivo has confirmed that the standard X500 will borrow the same main and telephoto sensors used on the vivo X300 Pro, giving its camera hardware a notable upgrade despite being the base model.

The X500 will come in four finishes: black, light gray, light pink, and a gradient variant. Its design will also set it apart from the upcoming X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, which use different camera layouts.
vivo is expected to reveal the remaining specifications, pricing, and other details when the X500 series officially launches in China on September 21.
