vivo has expanded its Y-series lineup in China with the launch of the new vivo Y500s. Arriving shortly after the vivo Y6t, the latest model targets budget-conscious buyers while offering a few standout features, including a large battery, fast charging, and a capable Snapdragon chipset.
The vivo Y500s is built around endurance, packing a sizeable 7,200mAh battery. vivo pairs it with 44W wired fast charging, giving the device an advantage in the entry-level segment where battery life often matters more than raw performance.
For users who prioritize fewer charging stops, the Y500s appears designed to deliver.
Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a 4nm processor also used in the recently launched Vivo Y6t.
The chipset is paired with up to 12GB RAM and as much as 512GB of internal storage, offering decent headroom for multitasking and media storage.
vivo is offering the device in three memory configurations:
- 8GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 256GB
- 8GB + 512GB
On the front, the vivo Y500s features a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 1570 x 720 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
While the resolution keeps the phone firmly in budget territory, the higher refresh rate should make everyday navigation, scrolling, and animations feel smoother compared to standard 60Hz screens.
One of the biggest upgrades over the vivo Y6t is the rear camera.
The Y500s comes equipped with a 50MP primary camera, although Vivo has not disclosed details about the specific sensor being used.
For selfies and video calls, the phone includes an 8MP front camera with an f/2.1 aperture.

The vivo Y500s is now listed for purchase in China through vivo’s online store.
Pricing is as follows:
- 8GB + 256GB – CNY 1,800 (around ₱16K)
- 12GB + 256GB – CNY 2,200 (around ₱19K)
- 8GB + 512GB – CNY 2,200 (around ₱19K)
