vivo is putting battery life front and center with the vivo Y600 Turbo, which officially launches in China today, May 25. Ahead of its debut, the company confirmed the phone’s biggest highlight: a huge 9000mAh battery.
Early listings reportedly reveal an actual rated capacity of around 9020mAh, making it one of the largest batteries ever seen on a mainstream smartphone. vivo says the battery is engineered to maintain healthy capacity for up to six years, emphasizing long-term endurance instead of just headline numbers.
The company is also promising five years of sustained smoothness through software optimizations designed to keep the phone responsive over extended use. According to vivo, the Y600 Turbo can keep up to 30 apps running smoothly in the background without major slowdowns.
Durability is another major focus. The Y600 Turbo comes with both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, alongside certifications for multiple environmental and durability tests. These rugged features remain uncommon in the mid-range segment, particularly for phones centered around battery capacity.
The device is already available for pre-order in China and will be offered in blue, white, and pink color options.
While vivo has yet to fully reveal the hardware specifications, the Y600 Turbo is expected to target users looking for dependable daily performance, long battery life, and stable multitasking rather than flagship-level power.
