It’s now full circle! From Filipino-dubbed Voltes V to Japanese-dubbed Voltes V: Legacy.
Voltes V: Legacy is coming to Japan and of course, Japanese dubbed! The talented Japanese voice cast has been revealed, alongside the official trailer.
According to GMA, the Japanese dubbed version of the hit TV series is called “Super Electromagnetic Edition.” The trailer hyped with the glimpse of beloved characters, including Prince Zardoz, played by Martin del Rosario, and the five pilots of the Voltes V volting in.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Steve Armstrong – Chiaki Kobayashi
- Big Bert Armstrong – Kido Hanakura
- Little Jon Armstrong – Makoto Koichi
- Mark Gorden – Yamato Kinjo
- Jamie Robinson – Megumi Nakajima
- Prince Zardoz – Junichi Suwabe
- Zuhl – Kosuke Echigoya
- Zandra – Riho Iida
- Draco – Yusaku Hiyama
This is a full circle for the franchise. The anime version has been dubbed in Filipino and now, the Filipino-made live-action is dubbed in Japanese.
Redditors have expressed their thoughts as well. One user found the Japanese VA for Steve Armstrong very impressive. Another user can’t help but be in awe of VA’s vocals for the character.
Voltes V: Legacy premiered in the Philippines on May 8, 2023 and concluded on September 8 of the same year. The cast of the pilots of Voltes V in the live-action series are Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano as Robert “Big Bert” Armstrong, Raphael Landicho as Little Jon Armstrong, and Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson.
The release date of the Japanese-dubbed Voltes V: Legacy is yet to be announced.
