The phone with the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with MIUI 14 and the most recent release, the Xiaomi 13 Pro, is now official and here is our first look at the device and our first impression straight out of the box.
Packaging
The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in four colors as of the launch, black, white, green and blue and this unboxing, we got the white color. The phone comes in a black box contrary to the actual color of the phone. In the box you find some paper work and user manual, the device itself, a transparent jelly case, a sim ejector, a 120W charging brick, and a type C connector to supply power to the device.
Design
As you take out the phone out of the box, the first thing you will probably notice is the weight. The phone is quite dense with a whopping 210g giving it a robust premium feel when holding in the hand. The phones comprises of 6.73 inch Gorilla Glass Victus Display at the front and Ceramic/Silicone Polymer Glass at at the back. It also has a relatively bigger square camera bump with a triple camera setup which actually gives a great support on the index finger while using the device. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is also bordered with an aluminum frame. I would say though that from just holding the phone, the glossy finishes are generally a fingerprint magnet if that is something which bothers you.
Display
The display of the Xiaomi 13 Pro has some quite impressive aspects that include LTPO OLED display with a 1440 x 3200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1900 nits of peak brightness. One thing to take note of is that the 13 Pro actually has a curved display unlike the 13 which has a flat display. Some people actually prefer the flat display to the curved display but Xiaomi probably thought it was better to curve the display on the premium version.
Performance
Since the Xiaomi 13 Pro has an insanely impressive specs page, you would never doubt its ability to run smoothly, switch between different gaming apps and display the popular Xiaomi super wall papers. Just for the highlights, the most important specs on this device are the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm) which performs an excellent job in managing power distribution, speed and computation throughout the use of the device.
Camera
The Xiaomi 13 Pro imaging system comprises of a triple camera setup in a square camera bump layout. Xiaomi went all out to make all the 50MP cameras to maximize the capability of the smartphone to take the best images possible. Even though this article is just about the general unboxing, it is worth noting that the company did a great job by not only focusing on making the phone look as good as it does, but also giving it the best internal components to compete with other flagship smartphones’ performances.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi 13 Pro is only available in China as of now but some reliable sites like GIZTOP are already selling the device. The Xiaomi 13 Pro 12GB/256GB variant is going for $1099 which is about Php 60,221 and the 12GB/512GB is being sold for $1199 which is about Php 65,700
Conclusion
Three main things that stand out on the externals of the Xiaomi 13 Pro are the overall built quality, the camera design setup and the display. Kudos to Xiaomi for that. But what about the internals? Lets find out on the full review
