What’s in the box?

In the box you get a Type A to type C cable, a 67W charging brick, some paperwork, a clear TPU case and then the SIM ejector.

Design

A lot of people will probably go for it because it has a flat screen with a nice frame. I believe that design is just a more comfortable phone to use. Being a little smaller, this model doesn’t skimp on a lot of the features on the 13 Pro larger model. Aside from the faster charging and the one inch sensor that it does have.

The color that we have for this review is Flora Green and it weighs 189g. The thickness is just under 8mm and on the right hand side is the power button. There are also the volume rocker buttons which I think are on the most convenient spot.

The fingerprint scanner is also an under-display type which is quite efficient and fast. The phone has slightly curved edges but it’s mostly flat and of course that screen on the front is flat.

Below we’ve got our type C Port still sadly no video out, still USB 2.0 speeds which are super slow and disappointing. I hope they’re going to improve that with time to USB 3.1, maybe in 2025 lol.

Moving on, there are stereo speaker grills and also another one in the earpiece. Here we also find the microphone antenna lines, the SIM tray which is dual Nano. Yes, it kind of looks like an iPhone 13/14 look, except its slightly curved, which seems to be the current market’s favorite style.

Specs and Camera

So, the phone has a 50 MP main camera with a 10MP sensor. This means the phone can take more detailed images with a higher resolution. With the 6.36 inches and it’s a OLED display, the phone can also display finer details. It also has the 12MP Ultra wide lens which allows you to capture more objects clearly, in a wider image frame.

The 120Hz refresh rate also allows you to scroll through different social media apps and jump from one App to another smoothly with no lag. It also comes in handy when playing games meaning you will have a much more uninterrupted smooth gameplay. The display can peak at an impressive 1900 nits guaranteeing you clear visual capabilities even when you are outdoors in the bright daylight.

Xiaomi partnered with Leica on making the lenses and with the image optimization. So you can definitely see the LEICA branding on the camera.

Performance

The Xiaomi 13 also 512GB internal storage. From my experience this is more than enough to store all the file sizes in your phone without having to extend the storage. It also has 12GB of RAM . Two words to describe this is : Multi-Tasking. The more RAM a smartphone has, the more apps it can keep open in the background without slowing down. With 12GB of RAM, this smartphone can easily handle running multiple apps simultaneously without experiencing any performance issues.

Additionally, mobile games are becoming increasingly demanding in terms of hardware requirements. With 12GB of RAM, a smartphone can handle the latest games with ease, ensuring smooth gameplay and quick loading times.

Lastly, high-quality photos and videos can require a lot of memory to process. With 12GB of RAM, the Xiaomi 13 can quickly process and edit photos and videos without experiencing any lag or slowdowns.

During testing, the Xiaomi 13 remained stable and cool, providing consistent performance throughout prolonged use. The device is truly a powerhouse that can handle any challenge thrown its way, delivering an exceptional user experience.

Price

The smartphone is available now in the Philippines: Php 44,999 for the 8GB/256GB and Php 50,999 12GB/256GB.

Verdict

The Xiaomi 13 is does not only look like a flagship phone, it feels and performs like one. Its compact design and top-notch features deliver a performance expected from a high-performance device. The amazing hi-res OLED display is to die for. Despite its lightweight design, the phone’s main camera takes good photos in various lighting conditions. There are still some few areas that could use some improvements like the USB Port and the lack of video out. Overall, the Xiaomi 13 is a well-balanced phone that is perfect for Android enthusiasts.
