Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new addition to its flagship lineup—the Xiaomi 15S Pro—which could launch as early as April. While it’s not a completely new generation, this “S” model could bring some strategic upgrades, especially in processing power and charging speeds.
Design & Display
The Xiaomi 15S Pro is expected to follow the sleek design language of the Xiaomi 15 series, meaning a premium build with minimal changes to its aesthetics. There’s no confirmation yet on display specifics, but if Xiaomi sticks to its formula, we can expect a high-refresh-rate AMOLED panel with crisp visuals and smooth animations.
Performance: A shift away from Qualcomm?
One of the biggest rumors surrounding the 15S Pro is the possibility of Xiaomi using its own XRING SoC, which would be a major shift from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips. If true, this could mark the start of Xiaomi’s long-term plan to develop custom processors—similar to what Apple and Samsung are doing. Leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 15S Pro will support 90W fast charging, ensuring quick top-ups for users who are always on the go. While this isn’t a massive leap forward, it’s still impressive and keeps the device competitive in the flagship space.
Worth the hype?
From what we know so far, the Xiaomi 15S Pro seems to be a refinement rather than a revolution. If Xiaomi does introduce its own custom processor, this could be a huge step forward for the brand. However, if it sticks with a Snapdragon chip and only offers minor improvements, it might feel more like an incremental refresh rather than a must-have upgrade.
