The Xiaomi 18 is still a few months away from its rumored September debut, but new leaks are already painting a clearer picture of what Xiaomi’s next compact flagship could bring to the table.
According to a new leak from China, the Xiaomi 18 will feature a 6.4-inch flat display, slightly larger than the 6.3-inch screen found on the Xiaomi 17. Despite the size increase, the device is said to retain the same 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
The display itself could see a notable upgrade. The leak claims the Xiaomi 18 will feature a “2K” resolution panel, an improvement over its predecessor. It is also expected to come with ultra-narrow bezels and large rounded corners, continuing Xiaomi’s focus on premium-looking hardware.
Battery capacity may be getting an even bigger boost. According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 18’s battery will start with the number “7,” leading some observers on Weibo to speculate that the device could pack a 7,800mAh battery.
Even if the final capacity ends up closer to 7,000mAh, it would still represent a significant jump from the Xiaomi 17’s 6,330mAh battery.
While the latest leak focuses primarily on the display and battery, it also touches on the rest of the Xiaomi 18 series. According to Digital Chat Station, both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are expected to feature dual 200MP cameras, consisting of a 200MP main camera and a 200MP telephoto camera.
As for the standard Xiaomi 18, the tipster did not provide any new camera details this time. However, previous leaks have suggested that the device could feature a 200MP telephoto camera while retaining the 50MP main camera resolution found on the Xiaomi 17.
With a larger display, a potentially huge battery, and flagship-grade camera hardware rumored across the lineup, the Xiaomi 18 series is already shaping up to be one of Xiaomi’s most ambitious smartphone launches yet.
