Xiaomi may be changing its long-standing flagship strategy. A new rumor suggests the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro won’t be limited to China this time, potentially giving more users around the world access to one of the company’s most anticipated premium smartphones.

Last year, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max remained exclusive to the Chinese market and never received an international release. According to a new report, however, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to launch in several global markets, including Europe, Türkiye, Russia, Taiwan, and Japan.
The situation in India, however, remains unclear.
A previous rumor claimed the Xiaomi 18 Pro would arrive in India alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, but the latest report contradicts that claim, saying the Pro model is not expected to launch there. It also makes no mention of the Pro Max, leaving its global availability up in the air. For now, Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm its international launch plans.
Rumored flagship specs
If earlier leaks prove accurate, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is shaping up to be a serious flagship.
The phone is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. On the camera front, it’s expected to feature two 200MP SmartSens sensors, with the primary camera reportedly using a large 1/1.28-inch sensor.
Other rumored upgrades include improved stereo speakers, a larger vibration motor for stronger haptic feedback, and a battery with a capacity of at least 7,000mAh. The device is also expected to support 100W wired charging as well as wireless charging.
If Xiaomi does bring the 18 Pro to more regions, it would mark a notable shift from previous generations, where the company’s Pro-branded flagships largely remained exclusive to China. That could make the upcoming model one of Xiaomi’s most widely available premium phones in recent years.
As always, these details are based on rumors and leaks. Xiaomi has not officially announced the Xiaomi 18 Pro, so its specifications, supported markets, pricing, and launch timeline should be treated as unconfirmed until the company makes a formal announcement.
