Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the REDMI 15 5G on August 19, and from what we’re seeing, this isn’t just another phone—it’s a statement.

What makes the REDMI 15 5G special?

Forget everything you know about mid-range battery life. The REDMI 15 5G is poised to be a game-changer, packing a colossal 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery. Xiaomi isn’t just giving us a big number; they’re promising up to 13.5 hours of standby on just a 1% charge in Hibernation Mode, and the phone can even double as a power bank with its 18W reverse wired charging. For the power-hungry user, this is a dream come true.

But the innovation doesn’t stop at the battery. The front of the device is dominated by a massive 6.9-inch display with a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, a feature you’d typically find on much more expensive flagships. This means whether you’re gaming, scrolling, or binge-watching, the visuals will be fluid and stunning.

Under the hood, the REDMI 15 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, ensuring a snappy and responsive experience. It will run on the latest Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, complete with a suite of AI-powered features, including Google Gemini and Circle to Search. On the camera front, it sports a 50MP AI-backed dual-camera setup, with leaks suggesting an 8MP front camera for your selfies. The design also gets a facelift, with a new “Royale Chrome Design” and an aerospace-grade metal camera island, giving it a premium feel that belies its budget-friendly price point.

The REDMI 15 5G will be available in three striking colors: Midnight Black, Frosted White, and Sandy Purple. While the official price is still under wraps, leaks point to a starting price of around Rs 14,300 (₱9,524.14) for the 8GB + 256GB model.

With its best-in-class battery, high-refresh-rate display, and modern AI features, the REDMI 15 5G is positioned to be a serious competitor in the sub-₹15,000 (sub-₱10K in the PH) market. It’s a fresh take on what a budget smartphone can be, and it’s clear Xiaomi is pulling out all the stops to make a lasting impression.
