Xiaomi, through its budget-friendly arm Redmi, has just unveiled a new phone that features a monstrous battery that puts others to shame.

Beyond the battery
The phone in question is the new Turbo 4 Pro. But before we delve into the battery, which we will later on, let’s first focus on the impressive spec sheet that the Turbo 4 Pro boasts. Inside, the phone features a 6.83-inch LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, plus a 120Hz refresh rate for good measure.
Under the hood, the Turbo 4 Pro is powered by the latest (but not necessarily the greatest) that Qualcomm has to offer: the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. As for RAM and storage, you can equip the Turbo 4 Pro with up to 16GB of high-speed LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of blazing-fast UFS 4.1 storage.
Camera-wise, the Turbo 4 Pro is equipped with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Meanwhile, a 20MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
As with many mid-range phones released in the past few years, the Turbo 4 Pro sports a metal frame with slim bezels, measuring 1.5mm on the sides and top, and a slightly wider 1.9mm chin. It’s also built with durability in mind, featuring IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.
The Star of the Show: Monstrous Battery
Now, let’s dive into the most talked-about feature of the Turbo 4 Pro: the battery. Inside, the Turbo 4 Pro sports a 7,550 mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 90W wired fast charging. This is one of the largest capacities we’ve seen, especially in this price range.
And what good is a large battery if you can’t share it with others? Redmi outfitted the Turbo 4 Pro with 22.5W reverse wired charging, which lets you lend a helping hand to a friend in need of a boost.
A Magical Surprise
There’s even a surprise for fans of the Harry Potter series: a limited-edition colorway that sports the Harry Potter theme. But if you’re not a fan of the series, the Turbo 4 Pro is also available in classic black, white, and green colorways.
Price and Availability
The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro starts at CNY 2,199 (or approximately ₱17,030.35) for the base 12GB/256GB variant and goes up to CNY 2,999 (or approximately ₱23,226.02) for the top-of-the-line 16GB/1TB model. However, the Turbo 4 Pro is China-only as of this time, with rumors of a global launch under the POCO brand, potentially as the POCO F7.
