Aligned with their 15th anniversary, Xiaomi just wrapped up their Far Closer launch event in Munich, Germany, which saw the launch of the Xiaomi 15T Series, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, and a couple of other goodies that will make Xiaomi fans very excited.
The Main Event: Xiaomi 15T Series
Although Xiaomi introduced a ton of things at their Far Closer event—ranging from HyperOS 3 upgrades to AIoT devices—the main headline was the launch of their follow-up to the flagship-killing T series: the 15T and 15T Pro.

Let’s start with the Xiaomi 15T Pro, since that took up the bulk of the presentation. Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica has always been a huge part of its camera push. Just a few months ago, rumors circulated of their separation, but Xiaomi quickly shot that down—emphasizing the partnership by bringing Leica Camera AG VP Marius Eschweiler onstage to present the collaboration.

Going back to the 15T Pro, it takes direct cues from the company’s flagship 15 Ultra with its Leica 5x Pro Telephoto Lens—a 50MP periscope shooter with OIS, 10x optical-level zoom, and a staggering 100x Ultra Zoom powered by AI. The main camera uses Xiaomi’s new Light Fusion 900 custom sensor, tuned for low-light excellence and 2x in-sensor zoom. Video lovers also get spoiled with HDR10+ across all lenses, 4K 120fps, and 10-bit LOG recording.

But it’s not just about photography. Xiaomi also debuted Offline Communication, a clever mix of RF and Bluetooth that lets two 15T devices talk to each other from nearly 2 kilometers away. I see this being pretty useful in the Philippines, especially with our abundant forests and the rise of hiking as a hobby.

Powering all those goodies is a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, coupled with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of fast UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi also boasted the 15T Pro’s display, which consists of a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, PWM dimming, 3200 nits peak brightness, and more.
What would’ve made that a complete package is a larger battery. Right now, the 15T Pro only has a 5500mAh battery, but despite that, Xiaomi claims 15.2 hours of constant use. If that isn’t enough, the 90W HyperCharge can top you up from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes.

So, how much does it all cost? Xiaomi stated that the 15T Pro starts at €799 (roughly ₱54,400 in direct conversion). That may seem a bit steep, but if the previous 14T series’ pricing is anything to go by, the local price might be closer to ₱40,000.
15T: The Accessible Flagship

Xiaomi didn’t take up much time presenting the non-Pro 15T. After all, it’s basically the same phone with a few differences. It has the same design, display, battery capacity, and even the Offline Communication feature that the Pro has.

Even the cameras are almost the same, with the non-Pro 15T also sporting the Leica triple camera system with the Summilux lens and the Light Fusion sensor.
Powering the Xiaomi 15T is the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. However, instead of the 90W HyperCharge, the 15T only supports 67W fast charging.

The Xiaomi 15T starts at €649 (roughly ₱44,200 direct conversion). But again, if we follow the 14T’s pricing, it should land at under ₱30,000 locally.
HyperOS 3.0: Smarter, Smoother, More Connected

Aside from the 15T Series, Xiaomi also gave a major update to its Android 16–based HyperOS 3.0. Here are a few of the features highlighted on stage:
- Hyper Island: A new dynamic UI layer that makes notifications, live activities, and multitasking feel more fluid.
- Cross-Device Magic: Unlock your phone with your MacBook, use a Xiaomi Pad as a MacBook’s second screen, and share files or apps seamlessly between devices.
- HyperAI: A deeper AI push, from smart image edits (like swapping outfits while keeping character details intact) to Gemini 2.5 Pro integration for real-time visual guidance, video generation, and Circle-to-Search upgrades.
Xiaomi also shared the rollout schedule for their HyperOS 3 including the supported devices, take a look:

More Than Phones: Redmi Pad 2 Pro and Gold Collection Wearables

Xiaomi also unveiled the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, a 12.1-inch tablet powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with a 12,000mAh battery. Pricing starts at €299 (around ₱20,000).

There’s also Xiaomi’s Gold Collection Wearables, which includes the OpenWear Stereo Pro open-ear earbuds (€149), the Xiaomi Watch S4 (€159), and the Smart Band 10 Glimmer Edition (€79).
The Bigger Picture
There’s a lot more that we didn’t get to dive into, including Xiaomi’s Human-Car-Home ecosystem, designed to create a more connected experience across devices.
