Know which things that will not be transferred during the SEA League of Legends server merger next year.
On Facebook, League of Legends posted the upcoming merger of all servers in Southeast Asia. This means all players logged in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines will be playing on the same server starting next year.
The merger is part of Patch 15.1 or Season 15. According to Riot Games, it has been long-requested and now, everyone can get the best possible gaming experience. Will they?
Server merging has ups and downs but the main upside is to keep things rolling for those on queue, cutting the wait times. The likely main downside is network stability if the developer didn’t prepare enough.
That said, Riot Games figured things out and already enforced strategies to ensure an excellent experience for League of Legends SEA players. First, matchmaking will be more accurate and quicker in Ranked or other game modes. Second, the developer centralized the server infrastructure for smooth, low-latency gameplay.
We just have to wait if these strategies will really work after the merger. By the way, here are the things that won’t be transferred during the merge:
- Victory Points
- Forum Badges
- Clash Match History on Thailand and the Philippines servers
- Clash Club Affiliations on Thailand and the Philippines servers
Riot ID, RP, Summoner Level, Honor Level, and others will be transferred.
The SEA server merger will be effective on January 9, 2025 with a downtime of at least four hours.
