YouTube is experiencing a major global outage that’s clearly affecting users across the Philippines, with widespread reports on social media and outage tracking sites showing the platform isn’t loading properly on web and app interfaces for many Filipinos on February 18, 2026. This comes amid a broader service disruption that has impacted users worldwide.

Report from ABS-CBN News

Viewers trying to open YouTube via browser or the mobile app this morning found the platform’s main homepage failing to display video recommendations and content with many encountering blank pages while parts of the interface like Subscriptions still worked intermittently. Direct video links and playlists sometimes played normally, but general browsing and search were unstable for a large number of users.

Posts from users indicate YouTube began showing errors or refusing to load homepage content around the same time users globally noticed issues, with reports coming in from discussions including Filipino participants confirming the outage in apps and browser views.

Global Scope of the Outage

Outage tracking data from Downdetector shows that over 240,000 users in the United States alone were reporting YouTube access problems around 7:59 p.m. Eastern Time. A clear sign the issue was widespread rather than isolated to one region.

Reddit threads and social posts from multiple countries further indicate the outage affected various platforms and devices from mobile apps to TV apps with symptoms including homepage failures, blank screens, and missing recommendations. Workarounds such as accessing videos via direct links or navigating through Subscriptions offered limited help for some users while the core problem persisted.

Official Response Still Pending

As of this report, YouTube has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage or a time frame for full restoration. Users in the Philippines and elsewhere are relying on real-time reports and outage trends, with common troubleshooting like reloading the app or restarting devices proving inconsistent at best.
