YouTube’s latest weapon against ad blockers will now ax the entertainment experience of those using ad blockers.
YouTube is getting really serious in combating ad blockers. The newest counter will definitely force many to watch ads or else.
According to a report, watching YouTube with ad blockers installed will cause videos to skip till the end. Either pay a premium to remove those ads or watch them to enjoy the show.
So, is it the end of ad blockers? Not really. Users just have to wait for ad blockers to get smarter, which they will. Developers are always rolling out updates to get around restrictions and whatnot.
On Reddit, users have reacted to the new YouTube tactic, including their tricks to overcome it. One Redditor suggested using Firefox with UBlock Origin and Tampermonkey scripts.
Meanwhile, a Redditor defended YouTube’s action and explained why it has to be done. Paying premium helps content creators, so subscribing to the platform is giving support to your favorite channels.
As of writing, the ad-free YouTube experience costs PHP 159 per month and you can cancel it anytime. You can pay for it using payment apps and even your mobile load but payments will be managed on the Play Store.
If that is pricey, you can choose the Student Plan which costs PHP 95 per month. For group subscription, a Family Plan is available for PHP 239 per month and it covers up to five family members aged 13 and up.
