Honor 80 Series: all about the specs, pricing, and how it looks

Craving for some news regarding the upcoming HONOR 80 SERIES? Well, you asked for it, you’ve got it!

On November 23, Honor will hold a significant launch event in China for its eagerly awaited Honor 80 series of inexpensive flagship smartphones (Wednesday).

The Honor 80 Pro, Honor 80 SE, and basic Honor 80 are the three variants of these high-end handsets, which are the successors to the Honor 70 series announced earlier this year.

Honor 80 Pro

Starting off with the most pricey of the bunch, it has a 5,000mAh battery and a powerful SoC, the device is also claimed to offer fast charging over a wired 100W connection. The device’s flagship triple camera configuration will also include the first 160MP main sensor in the industry.

In order to distinguish the handset as the eighth version of Honor’s flagship killer series, the camera island will have a ‘8’ diameter.

The highly praised Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm will be found in the Honor 80 Pro Plus, the company’s first flagship device.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on Samsung’s 4nm node last year was built using TSMC’s 4nm production process, which promises up to 30% greater performance and up to 30% better power efficiency. The SoC features ISP, WiFi 6E, and 5G.

In contrast, the front of the Honor 80 Pro has a curved 1.5K resolution, 120Hz AMOLED screen, and a pill-shaped cutout in the middle of the screen housing a pair of 50MP front-facing selfie cameras.

With up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, the device will debut with Honor’s most recent MagicOS user interface. It is anticipated to begin selling for less than $632 or around ₱36,200.

Honor 80

The vanilla Honor 80, on the other hand, will include more midrange internals and the same curved 120Hz AMOLED screen design as its more expensive sister. Instead, the Honor 80 will use a Snapdragon 782G SoC from Qualcomm, which only supports 66W fast wired charging.

It is said to have a back Sony flagship main sensor instead of the 160MP Samsung sensor seen on the Pro, as well as up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Although the front camera configuration is yet unknown, it is anticipated to include the same 50MP dual selfie lens as its Pro sister.

The Honor 80 should cost less than $422 USD or around ₱24,000.

Honor 80 SE

The Honor 80 SE is the group in the Honor 80 series that is most reasonably priced. It will be equipped with the recently unveiled Dimensity 1080 SoC, which is also found in other mid-range competitors like the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+.

The gadget would enable 66W wired fast charging and have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The front display will be a flat, 120Hz AMOLED screen, but the details of the front and rear cameras are yet unknown. At the time this article was written, neither Honor nor the design had been hinted at or announced.

The Honor 80 SE is anticipated to cost from $239 or around ₱13,000.
