Popular camera brand Canon entering the smartphone market!

Well, the time is due perhaps? Leica is with Xiaomi and Sharp, OPPO and OnePlus have Hasselblad, while vivo is working with ZEISS. HUAWEI developed XMAGE and Sony has its own camera tech

There are reports that we might see a new smartphone-camera brand partnership, with Canon.

Can you guys guess who would it be?

Popular leaker Digital Chat Station recently shared that notable camera brand Canon is looking for a smartphone manufacturer to partner with.

Since the leaker is based in China, we can speculate that it might be a Chinese mobile brand. What’s left are realme, HONOR, and ZTE.

It would not be wise to rule out Transsion Holdings brands like Infinix and TECNO since they are very aggressive lately.

The direct machine translation of his Weibo post reads, “Canon wants to co-brand with mobile phone manufacturers. The current market structure is millet-Leica (millet is Xiaomi), vivo-Zeiss, OPPO-Hasselblad, which one will co-brand with Canon?”

The information is very thin at the moment though and let’s take this news with a grain of salt as nothing is official at the moment. But if true, it would be nice to see another player trying to improve its imaging technology with the help of a reputable camera brand like Canon.
