vivo S17 Pro launched with a high performing chipset and Sony camera sensors!

Vivo has officially launched its highly anticipated S17 series, and the lineup includes three amazing phones: the Vivo S17, Vivo S17t, and the star of the show, the Vivo S17 Pro.

Design

At first glance, the Vivo S17 Pro may remind you of its predecessor, the S16 Pro, but there are some subtle differences that make it stand out. The third camera has been resized, and the color-changing back is no longer present. However, Vivo has introduced a brand new blue color option that captures the essence of the sea and stars. With its curved glass design on both the front and rear, this phone boasts a sleek 3D body, measuring just 7.46mm thick and weighing around 188g.

Display

The S17 Pro features a massive 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a centered punch-hole design. With a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels and a crisp 452 PPI, this display delivers vibrant visuals. But it doesn’t stop there! The panel supports an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and fluid animations. With a 10-bit panel offering a contrast ratio of 80,000,00:1 and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. Plus, it incorporates 2160Hz PWM dimming for a comfortable viewing experience.

Performance

Under the hood, the S17 Pro packs a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, ensuring snappy performance for all your tasks. Coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, you’ll have plenty of memory and lightning-fast storage speeds. On the software side, Vivo has you covered with the latest OriginOS 3.0, based on the highly anticipated Android 13.

Camera

The S17 Pro houses a triple camera system on the rear. You’ll find an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony primary sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP Sony 2x telephoto shooter. These cameras are accompanied by a dual-tone LED flashlight and a soft light, ensuring exceptional photography in any lighting condition. For selfies and video calls, the front boasts a high-resolution 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor with autofocus capabilities, flanked by LED flashlights on both sides.

Battery

Surprisingly, this phone only has 4,600mAh battery unlike the usual 5000mAh. But what’s truly impressive is the 80W fast charging support, ensuring you spend less time plugged in and more time enjoying your phone.

Pricing and availability

  • 8GB RAM + 256GB ~ $435 (around Php 24,446)
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB ~ $465 (around Php 26,132)
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB ~$490 (around Php 27,537)
