GMA Network Stocks are going down!?

According to investagrams.com, GMA 7 stock prices appear to be declining, with this week’s decline being the most prominent

Since the beginning of April, the stock price of GMA 7 has decreased, according to Investagrams.com. Although there are no specific causes or proof, perhaps it was because TVJ was about to be laid off at that moment.

TVJ hosts, announcing their departure from TAPE, Inc.

And thus it came to pass that the renowned noontime program fired Tito Vic, Joey De Leon, and Tito Sotto. They claimed to have quit working at TAPE, Inc. Furthermore, there are no further updates on their current whereabouts. We have embedded an official clip from their announcement below:

On Monday, June 5, Eat Bulaga resumed to air live with new hosts. The hosts at the moment are Paolo Contis, Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi, Betong Sumaya, Alexa Miro, and Betong Sumaya.

The new hosts of Eat Bulaga!

Well, we will give you more context regarding Eat Bulaga! Here is its brief history:

Eat Bulaga! is a Philippine noontime variety show that premiered on July 30, 1979. It is the longest-running variety show in the Philippines with over 13,000 episodes. Originally hosted by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, Chiqui Hollman and Richie D’Horsie, it currently airs on GMA Network.

The show was created by Tony Tuviera, who was looking for a way to compete with the popular noontime show Student Canteen. He came up with the idea for a show that would be funny, light-hearted, and family-friendly.

Eat Bulaga! quickly became a hit with viewers. The show’s three main hosts, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, were known for their comedic timing and their ability to connect with the audience. The show also featured a variety of other segments, including games, contests, and musical performances.

In 1989, Eat Bulaga! moved to ABS-CBN. The move was controversial, as it meant that the show would be competing directly with its former home network, RPN. However, Eat Bulaga! continued to be a hit with viewers, and it remained the top-rated noontime show in the Philippines.

In 1995, Eat Bulaga! moved back to GMA Network. The move was seen as a homecoming for the show, and it has remained on GMA Network ever since.

But!

Live production of the program was put on hold from May 31 to June 4, 2023, as a result of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, its original hosts, announcing their separation from TAPE Inc. The announcement was a result of the continuing dispute between the group and TAPE, Inc. chairman Romeo Jalosjos over Tony Tuviera’s purported removal from Eat Bulaga’s daily operations, as well as Jalosjos’ show-related intentions.

The trio’s May 31, 2023 announcement was only livestreamed via Eat Bulaga‘s Facebook page and YouTube channel as the new management of TAPE Inc. did not allow the show to go on-air live and a replay episode was broadcast instead on GMA Network. Other hosts of the show – Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Wally Bayola, Ryan Agoncillo and Allan K., together with other production members (cameramen, writers, sales) also filed their resignation on the same day.

On June 5, 2023, Eat Bulaga! resumed its live broadcasts, with Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi and Alexa Miro joined as the new hosts of the show. Former hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and de Leon have filed copyright claim for the name “Eat Bulaga!”.
