Early benchmarks of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400 show incredible performance

Recent leaks on the Dimensity 9300 touted a 10% speed boost over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but the spotlight has shifted to the upcoming Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

A Vietnamese forum user uncovered benchmark results on Geekbench 6.1 and AnTuTu 10, revealing the Gen 4’s dominance in single-core performance but a setback in multi-core Geekbench tests.

AnTuTu, however, paints a different picture, with MediaTek boasting a 10% higher overall score, fueled by a 12% higher CPU score and a 7% higher GPU score. Compared to the current Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300, these new chips showcase substantial performance leaps, hinting at a potential 50% increase – a remarkable feat for a generational upgrade, if these results hold true.

While skepticism lingers, Digital Chat Station suggests a notable factor: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s prime core potentially reaching 4.0GHz, surpassing the Gen 3’s 3.4GHz limit, and even rivaling the Apple A17 Pro at 3.78GHz.
