Sony Xperia 1 VI 3mm shorter, 3mm wider than Xperia 1 V

Sony adjusted the overall body of Xperia 1 VI. Viewing experience may be better with its wider screen.

Sony will undoubtedly roll out its next flagship smartphone. So, it’s no wonder why many are seeking info about it.

The latest leak unveiled the alleged renders of the Sony Xperia 1 VI, highlighting its height and width compared to its predecessor. Renders suggested a dimension of 162 x 74.4 x 8.45 mm and if pitted against the Xperia 1 V’s 165 x 71 x 8.3mm, the Xperia 1 VI is 3mm shorter but 3mm wider.

Plus, the Xperia 1 VI seems a few millimeters thicker than its predecessor. For Xperia fans, Sony didn’t seem to have sacrificed much to incorporate the changes. Besides sticking to the traditional top and bottom bezel design, the device still has stereo speakers and a selfie camera within the top bezel.

The adjusted dimension, however, has an impact on the screen size. The Sony Xperia 1 VI is estimated with a 6.49-inch display, a bit shorter than the 6.5-inch of Xperia 1 V.

Based on that, the Xperia 1 VI has a 4:3 display of 11.56cm and 16:9 of 14.15cm and display area of 103.74 square-centimeter, emphasizing on that wider overall screen.

Sony Xperia 1 VI is expected to launch this May.
